Welcome!

So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
— Romans 12:5

YOU are welcome at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church!

All that you are, and wherever you are on your faith journey,
let us share God’s love together.

St. Peter’s is a community of people from all walks of life, sharing a broad variety of experiences. Our welcome knows no bounds! We celebrate and affirm you as you are - your age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, or economic condition. We worship and serve with individuals and families of all sorts, and we offer the Good News of the Gospel to seekers from every spiritual tradition.

As a parish of the Diocese of New Jersey, the Episcopal Church, and the global Anglican Communion, we are fully sacramental and ever-reforming. For over 325 years, we have been committed to serving the Freehold area by offering inspiring worship, engaging Christian formation for every age, and meaningful outreach to our neighbors.

We are called to honor our baptismal vows, to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being”. As a community that lives our faith, we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in thought, word, and deed.

We strive to include Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices at the center of our daily work.

Wherever people gather, in person or through online communities, we seek to offer welcome, grace, and God’s Good News for a wounded world. We hope this website will serve as a resource for your own growth in faith as well as a connection with our community, in person or online.

Easter at St. Peter’s

Easter is not just a single Sunday but a season of 50 days. During this time, we encounter the risen Christ in our lives, just as he revealed himself to the disciples after his resurrection. In addition to our regular Sunday worship, in this season we also observe the Ascension of Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 pm. This begins the ten-day cycle of Thy Kingdom Come, a global prayer movement, which culminates in the arrival of the Holy Spirit in our midst on Pentecost (May 19).

In addition to our onsite and online worship on Sundays and throughout the week, we invite you to grow in faith with us in this season. We also continue to offer ministry in and with our community in Freehold, with Community Suppers on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings at 5:30 pm, and through the ministries of the Thrift Store in the adjacent Keith Building.

Stewardship and Pledge Information

Pledges from parishioners and the community are a vital part of our financial support. Episcopal parishes are not funded by dioceses, large endowments, or other outside resources. What we do is directly related to what each of us brings to God’s table.

Stewardship describes our use of God’s gifts for God’s purposes. Financial stewardship is important, but so is stewardship of our time and talent as well. We each give of ourselves from a portion of what God has given us so that we can build a community that worships God in beauty and holiness and shares Christ’s love in the world.

You can learn about this year’s stewardship campaign, make a pledge, and explore other stewardship resources by clicking the button below for our Stewardship page. You can also make a pledge by clicking the “Pledge Now” button.

20 Hymns in 10 Minutes - Improvisations

Or, sometimes, ten hymns in ten minutes! Our Music Director Brit Montoro takes us through the Hymnal with ten-minute weekly improvisations on twenty hymns. Donations to support our music ministry are welcome! The video is updated every Wednesday. For previous weeks visit our hymn improvisation archive.

Brit Montoro plays a ten minute improvisation on Hymns 251-260 from Hymnal 1982.

Forming our Faith

Formation is about being shaped by God to become the people God has created us to be. At every age and throughout the different stages of our lives, we are called to be disciples by loving and following Jesus.

We provide both church and home-based faith formation programs for all ages.

Serving Others

Our worship is completed as we are sent forth to "love and serve the Lord." We have a diverse roster of ministries that strengthen our congregation's life and help us participate in God's mission outside our walls.

Whether it's a soup kitchen, prayer circle, thrift shop, through music, or in community outreach, we actively seek to offer our gifts.
